Never Forget Your Love – Valentine’s Safari Photo Shoots at Makweti Safari Lodge
It gives us tremendous hope at Makweti to have February, the month of love, finally upon us once again. Hope for at least one month where love takes charge over all the chaos, where tenderness and togetherness are treasured during this time of global isolation.
At Makweti, we are all true romantics at heart – it comes with the territory of running such a special lodge in a destination as magnificent as the undulating landscape of the Welgevonden Game Reserve. Even the gently rolling hills themselves exude romance, with the rich, red earth blanketed in greenery and morning mist.

We’ve partnered up with Armadillo Media to offer our couples a photo and film shoot to capture their romantic safari, locking it into memory forever. We’re making a two-night romantic getaway package, with photoshoot options, available to all for the month of February 2021.
A Romantic Getaway Three Hours from Joburg
Makweti Safari Lodge offers peace and privacy, with only five luxurious suites nestled separately into the African bush. Apart from the wide-open spaces, the king bed, indoor-outdoor shower and victorian bathtubs, couples who take advantage of a romantic getaway package at Makweti will also enjoy the finest cuisine, served in a candlelit dining room, or beneath the stars around glowing log fires.
Our safari activities take couples on Big Five excursions on an open game viewing vehicle. Africa couldn’t be more romantic than when encountered so intimately, the sound of earth crunching beneath the tyres, the scent of all of mother nature’s botanical blends on the air.

The idyllic 2-night stay for two will cost R 4000 per night per person. The stay includes meals, teas and coffees, and all game activities.
